Point cloud technology for buildings.
What is a point cloud?
A point cloud is a collection of data points in a three-dimensional coordinate system. These points represent the external surfaces of objects in space. In the context of buildings, a point cloud captures the external, and possibly internal, details of a building by plotting thousands or even millions of individual points that together form a 3-D representation of the structure.
Each point in the point cloud may also have additional attributes, such as color or intensity, that can be obtained from the data source (e.g., a laser scanner or camera).
